Description

Reflections of the East for Flute and Piano in 3 Movements was composed by Cynthia Cozette Lee after viewing an ancient Asian art exhibit in Philadelphia. Each of the three movements is representative of a sculpture piece in the exhibit. The flautist is called on to use special fingering created by the composer and trills to achieve a bamboo flute sound. The movements are: I. The Golden Crown of Gems; II. The Sculptured Man of Glass Colored Orange; and III. The Four Faces of Buddha.
