Who is Cynthia Cozette Lee?
Biography
Dr. Cynthia Cozette Lee obtained her formal training in music composition from Carnegie Mellon University
earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and from the University of Pennsylvania with a Masters of Arts Degree.
Cozette’s music has been performed worldwide by professional music groups and soloists such as Africa Lyric’s
Opera, Marshall Opera, Crescendo Detroit, the Orchestre Symphonique du Loiret, OperaCréole, College Music
Society, Flute Society of Greater Philadelphia, National Flute Association, Washington National Opera Institute, National Association of Negro Musicians, Women of Color Festival, South Florida Chamber Ensemble, and also the Mu Phi Epsilon International Conventions. Her music is well-received by diverse audiences.

Dr. Cynthia Cozette Lee is an accomplished composer, pianist and flutist. Her classical music training began at seven years old with Carmen Rummo, a Duquesne University Professor of Piano and Alois Hrabak, former Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra flute player. Cozette studied composing with distinguished contemporary composers Joseph Willcox Jenkins, Roland Leich, Leonardo Ballada, George Rochberg and George Crumb and music copying with Arnold Arnstein.
